Plavix
Active Ingredients:
- Clopidogrel Bisulfate
How does the medication work?
Clopidogerel belongs to a group of medicines called inhibitors of platelet aggregation. The medication binds to ADP-receptors of the platelets and selectively inhibits the connection of ADP with ADP-receptors and activation of GPIIb/IIIa. All of these leads to inhibiting ADP-induced platelets aggregation. Clopidogrel also inhibits platelets aggregation caused by other agonists. Clopidogrel helps to prevent the development of atherothrombosis in cerebral, coronal and peripheral arteries. Why is Plavix prescribed?
- Prophylaxis of atherothrombosis in patients with heart attacks and ischemic stroke or with diagnosed occlusive disease of peripheral arteries.
Prevention of atherothrombotic conditions (in combination with acid acetyl salicylic) in patients with acetyl salicylic acid:

- Acute myocardial infarction (raised ST segments) in medicinal therapy
