The commercial name of the medication may differ from the brand one. Generic Latisse manufactured by Ajanta is available under commercial name Bimat. Generic Latisse comes with one applicator brush.
How does the medication work?
Bimatoprost is considered to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it helps to prolong this phase; and secondly, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase. The exact action mechanism of this medication remains unknown.
Why is Latisse prescribed?
Bimatoprost ophtalmic solution in primary indicated for reduction of elevated intra-ocular pressure. When it is applied on the eyelashes Bimatoprost enhances eye lashes grow.
Bimatoprost is used for the treatment of hypotrichosis in order to enhance eyelashes growth.
When Latisse should not be taken?
The medication is contraindicated to any of the medication ingredient. The medication is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. Do not apply the medication to the lower eyelid.
The medication should be used with caution in patients with glaucoma.
