How does the medication work?
Anti-dysuric, alpha-adrenolytic. Selectively blocks postsynaptic alpha-1 adrenoreceptors of smooth muscles. Reduces the tone of smooth muscles of the prostate, neck of the urinary bladder and prostatic urethra, improves urine outflow, reduces symptoms of obstruction and irritation of the urinary tract in benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Why is Flomax prescribed?
- Functional symptoms, including urination disorders, in benign prostatic hyperplasia
When Flomax should not be taken?
- hypersensitivity
- history of orthostatic hypotension
- severe hepatic and / or renal failure
What side effects are possible with Flomax ?
- nervous system and sensory organs: dizziness, headache, fatigue, sleepiness / insomnia
- cardiovascular system: orthostatic hypotension
- urogenital system: retrograde ejaculation, decreased libido
- other: back pain, rhinitis, diarrhea, chest pain, nausea
