How does the medication work?
Fosamax belongs to bisphosphonates group of drugs. The drug works by changing the cycle of bone formation and prevents breakdown. Fosamax stimulates bone formation, restores positive balance between resorption and bone restoration, sufficiently increases mineral bone density. Fosamax also contributes to normal bony tissue formation with a normal histological structure.

What side effects are possible with the medicine ?
- Gastrointestinal tract: stomachache, heartburn, dysphagia, esophagitis, esophagus ulcers and erosion, stomachodynia, dyspepsia, meteorism, diarrhea, constipation, nausea
- Central nervous system: headaches, irritation
- Skin: rash, itching
- Other: myalgia, asymptomatic hypocalcemia and hypophosphatemia
